In recent days, additional aid was delivered to the defenders of Ukraine, for which thousands of donors agreed through the website zbraneproukrajinu.cz. The idea was born last year, when Martin Ondráček from Dárk pro Putin together with Team4Ukraine traveled to the 41st mechanized brigade fighting in Ukraine on the front near Kupjansk.
"The collection took place from the beginning of November to December 18. A total of 23,255,906 crowns was collected and 7,872 donors contributed," said Martin Ondráček.
The object of the collection was one thousand pieces of RPG-75M reactive anti-tank grenades from a Czech manufacturer, worth more than twenty-three million crowns. The weapon is designed to destroy tanks and other armored vehicles at a distance of up to 300 meters. The guarantor of the campaign was the Ministry of Defense of the Czech Republic. The importation of weapons to the unit itself was organized by Team4Ukraine.
"These weapons were brought because the unit, which we as Team4Ukraine have been supporting for a long time, requested them themselves due to their lack already last summer," said Jan Heřmánek, vice-chairman of the Team4Ukraine association. "It is one of the forms of military aid that our association provides in addition to humanitarian aid. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we have been supplying the defenders with the necessary equipment in the form of medical equipment, medical backpacks, drones, helmets, vests, or even armored Humwee ambulances, for which the collection is currently running again. The aggressor cannot be defended only with the help of humanitarian supplies, military aid is also needed."
The trip to Ukraine was connected with the delivery of additional humanitarian aid to the hospital caring for war veterans in Kremenchuk. The main thing, the delivery of anti-tank missiles, entailed considerable demands on administration and logistics, which were directly involved in Ukraine by a five-member team, supplemented by an interpreter. "In Lviv, we joined the funeral procession with the dead soldiers. It was very emotional, people kneeling by the road, mournful music playing, parents having to bury their sons. It was chilling," volunteer Jakub describes how the war is truly omnipresent in the country. This was also confirmed in the following days, when they were present in Kiev during a drone attack, or in Kharkiv the day after the impact of Russian missiles.
"You go to bed in the evening with the information that three S300s and some S200s fell into Kharkiv a day earlier, and you wait to see what happens. But it is something that cannot be controlled anymore. In the end, the night was relatively quiet, with an alarm here and there and only two shaheds. I don't know why Russia needs to send it here, since the terrorist state has other methods."
The transfer of anti-tank missiles was successful, the aid reached those who need it to defend their country. Many agree that 2024 will be a pivotal year. Civilians and defenders continue to be grateful to everyone who helps them. This is well illustrated by one of the many incidents described by Jakub: "While waiting for the second group, part of our team was invited to the local people for soup and pancakes, in a small old house by the road. You could see that the family didn't have much, yet they shared the food with gratitude."
The assistance of both organizations, both Gift for Putin and Team4Ukraine, continues. They always publish up-to-date information on their websites and social networks.
