Pavel is Ukrainian, lived in the Czech Republic since 2010, with Team 4 Ukraine z.s. cooperated from the beginning.
Since 2014, he has been helping UA and donating a substantial part of his income from his business both in the Czech Republic and in Germany. As a very skilled welder, he did not stop. He also planned to open his own thematic pub in Prague.
With the beginning of the great invasion in February 2022, he left his prosperous company in the Czech Republic and went to help in Ukraine. Pavel drove humanitarian aid to civilians where others usually did not dare, helped evacuate entire families and often narrowly escaped the Russians. Sometimes there was a hole in the car, but he always got everyone to safety. He also drove aid to the soldiers.
After the liberation of Kherson, he returned to it as a native, a few hours after the front units of the ZSU entered the city. Pavel had already stayed in the shelled city. In his own car he bundled up sick children and drove doctors all over the area until we managed to get ambulances to the hospital. He then worked as a humanitarian worker in the Kherson region. After the rupture of the Kachovská Dam, he did not hesitate and rescued people from flooded areas on a boat, not only on the liberated shore, but also went to the other shore for the cut off civilians, where the Russians had left them to their fate. The safety of others was more important to him than his own, he returned several times with the ship as a strainer …..
In autumn 2023, as a non-soldier, Pavel decided that he wanted to do more and voluntarily joined ZSU. Thanks to his technical skill and dexterity, he was assigned to one of the battalions, which is in charge of recovering and moving damaged equipment from battle sites.
We are still in contact with Pavel, he is one of us. When we ask him if he needs anything, he always answers: I have everything, guys... But in the last phone call, he timidly blurted out that he had to save up for a drone jammer. There are always an awful lot of them in the battle area, and a recovery tank that pulls, for example, another tank, is an ideal slow target...
What will he choose?
We want to raise money for a drone jammer. Prices range from 85 to 150 thousand CZK. We would like to buy a more expensive model that can interfere with wider bands. We will choose a specific model towards the end of the collection. Development is moving forward very quickly in this area.
What happens if the jammer is not selected? We will not despair and among the members of Team 4 Ukraine we will further cut family budgets and collect the missing amount. If a little more is collected, we will buy Paul and his colleagues in the vehicle crews protective ballistic glasses, which they do not have, and if really enough more is collected, we will buy them additional ballistic protection to the vests, such as sleeves, neck guards, groin covers and similarly.
